Sarah Bateman is a Spiritual Director, Financial Coach, Speaker, Writer and Pastor in the Christian tradition. She is deeply inspired by the fathers, mothers, authors of the mystical tradition and considers herself to be a Christian mystic., seeing the work of the Spirit in all aspects of her integrated human and spiritual journey. She completed a two year Spiritual Direction cohort and certificate under the professorship and supervision of the widely acclaimed Spiritual Director Jo Ann Kunz in the Kairos program, Listening People to Life.
She spent a year in the Allender Center’s Narrative Trauma Therapy program and received her level 1 certificate. She also holds 16 years of experience in Financial coaching with certificates from Crown & Dave Ramsey’s coaching programs and is also certified in level 1 & 2 prayer ministry with years of personal work and group leading through Elijah House Ministries.
Currently she is completing her Masters degree in Spiritual Direction & Leadership with Kairos University. She pastors a beautiful congregation of deeply authentic people at Reading City Church along with her ministry partner and co-pastor Vincent Donnachie and considers it a deep and reverent honor.
Constantly inspired by the human experience, Sarah believes that the integration of humanity and spirituality is the greatest undertaking of both the spiritual journey and the transformation of the inner person. Integration accomplishes movement towards wholeness and causes faith, trust, freedom and love to grow a garden of beauty in the interior soul.
Sarah believes strongly that lack of integration is what keeps us from experiencing a beautiful and life-changing journey with God. She particularly loves working with those who are disillusioned by previous constructs of faith or foundation and encourages questions and doubts, giving others a safe place to explore the next movements in their spiritual life.

My spiritual direction practice offers a sacred space of deep listening, rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition and enriched by the wisdom of Celtic spirituality. I accompany individuals and leaders as they discern the movement of the Spirit in their lives, honoring the rhythms of nature, the power of story, and the healing presence of grace. With a trauma-informed lens and a posture of compassion, I seek to hold space for those navigating spiritual questions, vocational transitions, and inner restoration. Through prayerful dialogue and theological reflection, I invite others into a journey of transformation—toward wholeness, clarity, and deeper communion with the Divine.
